About:
The inspiration for this painting was the heavy feeling that has accompanied the change of seasons and the events in our world that have added to it.
It came from speaking with friends, noting a symmetry and depth of emotion in all my conversations. It lead to this work which I’ve titled it “A Beautiful Sorrow”, because though it is hard to hold, sadness can be clarifying too. It reminds us of what we hold precious and heralds a time when we might emerge from it, into somewhere important and new.
